Diabetes Type 2 and Treatments with Exercise

Diabetes Type 2 and treatments? Wow! This sounds very encouraging. And what do you think are all these about? Exercise, that’s what. I know, it’s hard work, right? But you know everything worth having takes time and effort. And what’s more worth having than our health?

Besides, if you were told you could be healthier, look better and live longer by exercising just a bit more than one minute every two hours of your life, wouldn’t you do it? Of course you would. Anyway, it’s going to be hard only at the start. Once it gets to be a habit, it will be easy, I promise.

It is important to have an exercise program when you’re diabetic. Hey, what am I saying? It’ s essential even when you’re not. Here’s what UCLA did on a study they conducted on the diabetes Type 2 and treatments. They put patients on a reduced dosage of insulin and their medication along with placing them on a low-fat diet. So what else did they do?

They made these patients take a quick, forty-five minute hike a day. And you know what they found out? The Type 2 diabetics ended up getting off their medication. Isn’t that a great result for a study on diabetes Type 2 and treatments? But that’s not the only study that yielded such fine conclusion. Here’s another one.

Japanese investigators also researched the diabetes Type 2 and treatments. To do this, they placed ten and fourteen other diabetics on a unique diet. In addition, they made the fourteen on the same special diet go on walks of 10,000 steps a day which is equivalent to four or five miles. They also had another group without changing their diet nor their exercise. They called this the control group. What do you think they found out?

This is a no-brainer, but I am going to spell it out anyway. The control group in their same original diet did not show any change at all. The ones put on a special diet without the walking routine lost weight. They also showed less insulin resistance. Clearly, this is another fine result for the study on diabetes Type 2 and treatments. But that’s not all, so read on.

The ones put on a special diet and walking regimen lost considerably more weight. And their blood sugar levels fell significantly. Some specialists think this transformation is the result of the insulin-like effect created by exercise.

Do you want a review of the two

studies? These two studies on the diabetes Type 2 and treatments just demonstrated that regular exercise aids in the maintenance of more stabilized blood sugar levels by:

  • Raising insulin sensitivity thus reducing the need for insulin
  • Making glucose tolerance better
  • Lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels
  • Helping in weight loss in obese diabetics

Convinced? Not yet? Well, here’s more alert for you. They say aerobic work out is superior to their counterpart, the anaerobic exercise. What does this tell us? It’s better to run, walk, cycle or swim. Now that makes it easier to make a choice, doesn’t it?

Don’t do any weight lifting, though. Do you know why? Body building has a propensity to elevate blood sugar levels and keep a heart rate less than 110 per minute. Better still, consult with your doctor to discuss what’s best for you. Then like the results of the studies on diabetes Type 2 and treatments, you’ll be on your way.

Anyway, these two studies are a proof of the healing power of exercise. I wish I could bottle this up for you. I wish I knew this before my thyroid condition for then I felt so tired I kept resting but the more I rested, the worse I got. Anyway I don’t have proof that exercise will help treat thyroid conditions and I do for diabetes Type 2 and treatments. But pardon me, I digress. Let me not divert you to what is important. For diabetes, exercise is part of the best medicine.
