It was fun getting this newsletter ready but it was hectic because we were moving to another home. Anyway, we've got to try, so we did it. We feel that to get to a healthier place we need to keep in touch. So it was Ezine Madness all the way but we are wired not to worry so we went ahead and finished it! 2. Schedule of Diabetes Care - Follow this schedule. Add as needed:

Every Visit to the Health Care Team:

Every Three Months:

  • Visit the dentist.
  • Get an A1C test
  • Visit diabetes care provider

Once a Year:

  • Flu Shot
  • Talk to diabetes educator to get an update
  • Review meal planning
  • Get HDL. LDL, triglycerides and total cholesterol checked.
  • Get the microalbumin measured to check kidney's health
  • Get feet checked (could be more often if there are problems)
  • Get eyes examined.

Every Two Years

  • If last reading was good, HDL. LDL, triglycerides and total cholesterol can be checked every two years

Once a Lifetime:

  • Pneumonia vaccine

4. Trivia: Do You Know If This Is True?

One of the HEALTHY JUICES is Bitter gourd + Apple + Milk -   Avoid bad breath and reduce internal body heat.

5. And here’s the dessert recipe we promised you.

Pineapple Cream Pie

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups skim milk
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, fat-free
  • 1 box of Jello vanilla cook and serve pudding, sugar-free
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup Equal sweetener
  • 1 can of crushed pineapple 8 ounces, not drained
  • 1 frozen pie crust 9-inch, bake and cool as directed

Procedure:

  • a. Combine sweetener, cream cheese and vanilla in a bowl.
  • b. Beat above until creamy and smooth.
  • c. Pour in the pineapple and stir.
  • d. Pour the mixture into the pie crust.
  • e. Wait for one to two hours while chilling before serving.

This recipe serves a total of 8. Each serving has 190 calories, 4.2 gram total fat, 1.59 grams of saturated fat, 20.2 grams of carbohydrate, 15.5 grams of protein and 9 milligram of cholesterol

6. Let's laugh together at this joke even if it's not funny. Laughing will help get us healthy.
